Hermano Ventura charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hermano Ventura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 6 minutes into the game, Nadir Selahaddin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jairo Barcelos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bento Vieira hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Jairo Barcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nadir Selahaddin's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Nadir Selahaddin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo Barcelos. Atlético SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nadir Selahaddin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelo Trindade during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st minute, Angelo Trindade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alexandre Aveiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nadir Selahaddin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Jairo Barcelos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jairo Barcelos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alexandre Aveiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 26 minute of play. Roberto Pestana charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 32 played minutes AJAX Vinha ds Pedras got a freekick which was hit by Adelino Nogueira. Alexandre Aveiro struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jairo Barcelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AJAX Vinha ds Pedras. After 37 played minutes AJAX Vinha ds Pedras got a freekick which was hit by Adelino Nogueira. 43 minutes into the match, Atlético SC's goalkeeper Jairo Barcelos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nadir Selahaddin. Nadir Selahaddin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jairo Barcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nadir Selahaddin was the one to do the kick off. When Angelo Trindade was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Angelo Trindade hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 57 minutes, Fabrício Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético SC and the AJAX Vinha ds Pedras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th minute, Fabrício Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Aveiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Barcelos having to interfere. In the 68th match minute, Atlético SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermano Ventura to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético SC's zone, Adélio Azenha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Barcelos came out of the goal and Adélio Azenha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nadir Selahaddin in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jairo Barcelos saved Atlético SC from getting behind. Atlético SC's Jairo Barcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nadir Selahaddin in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Atlético SC defense, Nadir Selahaddin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jairo Barcelos. The Atlético SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jairo Barcelos should have stopped the shot. Atlético SC's Jairo Barcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nadir Selahaddin in the 80th minute of play. Márcio Barroso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jairo Barcelos having to make a save. The supporters of Atlético SC booed when AJAX Vinha ds Pedras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Pestana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adélio Azenha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nadir Selahaddin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Jairo Barcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nadir Selahaddin in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jairo Barcelos saved Atlético SC from getting behind. A collision led to Atlético SC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Nuno Cavaco hit a great ball. After having played for 96 minutes, Alexandre Aveiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AJAX Vinha ds Pedras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Aveiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. AJAX Vinha ds Pedras's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
