Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álvaro Brás in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Malheiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cochoes's Alfredo Malheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Brás in the 13th minute of play. Álvaro Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Alfredo Malheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Domingos Baldaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Álvaro Brás kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredo Malheiro. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. In the 24th minute, Sílvio Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Malheiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Amadeu Alves. When Álvaro Brás, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Alfredo Malheiro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Joel Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cochoes's Domingos Baldaia in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Carlos Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Joel Esteves fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alfredo Malheiro, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Cochoes's zone, Álvaro Brás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Malheiro came out of the goal and Álvaro Brás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Álvaro Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 48 in the game by Joel Esteves from a close distance when the talented Alfredo Malheiro managed to make a qualified save. Cochoes's players were relieved. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Domingos Baldaia made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Esteves in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Malheiro saved Cochoes from getting behind. Rui Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Carlos Vieira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cochoes. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Rui Pinheiro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Alfredo Malheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Brás, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Joaquim Baía hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The Cochoes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 93rd minute, Rui Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Baía fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Vieira having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
