Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Adecide FC's Jaime Lopes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Jaime Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vasco Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Simão Diegues managed to get in a good position for a shot. SL Benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão Diegues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jordão Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Márcio Ferro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vasco Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Jordão Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Lopes in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Paulo Cunha had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Márcio Ferro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Vasco Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes SL Benfica got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Ferro. When Jorge Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Adecide FC's protests and gave Jorge Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Jorge Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Alexandre Prestes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Adecide FC's Vasco Lopes didn't even have to move. The audience was convinced that Gonçalo Lamego's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vasco Lopes was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simão Diegues in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Lopes saved Adecide FC from getting behind. Simão Diegues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

With a little luck, Adecide FC's Vasco Lopes got control of the ball when Simão Diegues tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Adecide FC's zone, Márcio Ferro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vasco Lopes came out of the goal and Márcio Ferro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 64 minutes, Aparício Madeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SL Benfica and the Adecide FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SL Benfica's Aparício Madeira got a free kick in the 64th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jaime Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Adecide FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jordão Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simão Diegues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Vasco Lopes made a huge save. Vasco Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio Ferro, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Márcio Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 minutes, Luís Cunha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Adecide FC and the SL Benfica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 78 played minutes Adecide FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Cunha. Luís Cunha hit a great ball. If Márcio Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simão Diegues scored 1-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vasco Lopes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 92nd minute, Jorge Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
