The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Egídio Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paulo Borba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 20th minute, Filipe Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. André Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Ronaldo Pinhal made a huge save. In the 27th match minute, Florencas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Taborda to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Pinhal didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when SC Alheira's André Baptista shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Florencas FC's Ronaldo Pinhal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Queirós in the 46th minute of play. André Baptista struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ronaldo Pinhal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Alheira. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

João Poças fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Borba having to interfere. Cristiano Campos hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If João Poças had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldo Pinhal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Queirós in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, André Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Alheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that André Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Pinhal was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 75th minute, André Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute Egídio Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Borba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Borba made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when João Poças sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, SC Alheira's Paulo Borba got control of the ball when João Poças tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Egídio Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SC Alheira had played much better football throughout.
