Rui Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Vilas Boas in the 10th minute of play. Alcino Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Teves having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Cristiano Vilas Boas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Vilas Boas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Domingos Valadares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Teves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Wilson Teves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Cristiano Vilas Boas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ameixial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Vilas Boas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alcino Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saúl Leite hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. If Domingos Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carricos FC! After having played for 84 minutes, Alcino Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cristiano Vilas Boas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Rui Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
