With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Aleixo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Basílio Aleixo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emílio Matos in the 22nd minute. When Paulo Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the SC Gondesende fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Amorim couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Basílio Aleixo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sandro Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Aleixo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Sandro Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basílio Aleixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Faria in the 45th minute of play. Basílio Aleixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Faria in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st match minute, Soalhais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Faria to maneuver through the defense.
