Sidónio Anjos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, SC Arneiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidónio Anjos to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, GD GOLÃES's André Nóbrega tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Veríssimo Sobral in the 18th minute of play forced SC Arneiros's goalkeeper Josué Mourão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josué Mourão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Veríssimo Sobral in the 23rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Arneiros's Gervásio Vaz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Valentim Barbosa. That made the score 1-0 after 27 minutes of play. With an all-out effort, SC Arneiros's Valentim Barbosa threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gervásio Vaz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gervásio Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentim Barbosa having to interfere. When Alexandre Amaro fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GD GOLÃES's protests and gave Alexandre Amaro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Arneiros booed when GD GOLÃES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Amaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoro Palma charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidoro Palma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of GD GOLÃES:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Arneiros:s goal. When the match had been going on for 43 minutes, SC Arneiros's André Morais got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Valentim Barbosa. Josué Mourão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veríssimo Sobral, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Ronaldo Sales hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gervásio Vaz made a kick off. Wilson Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josué Mourão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilson Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. If Veríssimo Sobral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, SC Arneiros's Josué Mourão got control of the ball when Veríssimo Sobral tried to sneak it across the goal line. Veríssimo Sobral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
