But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Macedo couldn't finish the play. In the 6th minute Rodrigo Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Castanheira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Lúcio Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Macedo in the 43rd minute of play forced Ortigueira's goalkeeper Filipe Castanheira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cândido Gueifão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Altino Varela in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lúcio Macedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lúcio Macedo struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Filipe Castanheira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calhetas FC. If Armando Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Altino Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Cândido Gueifão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Macedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filipe Castanheira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Ortigueira's goalkeeper Filipe Castanheira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lúcio Macedo. In the 96th match minute, Ortigueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altino Varela to maneuver through the defense. The Calhetas FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Ortigueira from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
