Diego Garcez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Joel Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. Lissabon's Diego Garcez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Quaresma in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of SC Armada booed when Lissabon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Salazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Bragança was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gervásio Macedo. After the first half SC Armada were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Junqueira was the one to do the kick off. In the 56thth minute of the game Joel Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lissabon's Diego Garcez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diego Garcez made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Frederico Ferrão sent off a good shot on target. Diego Garcez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Pereira in the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lissabon's zone, Joel Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Garcez came out of the goal and Joel Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Armada's Armando Belém shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Diego Garcez but with some difficulty. In the 78th minute, Alfredo Lemos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Frederico Ferrão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Garcez having to interfere. If Joel Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Pereiras short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Diego Garcez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Diego Garcez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Pereira went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. A collision led to SC Armada getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Armando Belém hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, SC Armada's goal looked a bit too open when Máximo Brito came free, but Cristiano Bragança reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 96 minutes, Joel Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Armada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Armada played a much better game than Lissabon and deserved their victory. The Lissabon players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
