Paulo Leiria who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Marco Caldas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Nuno Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zarco Rijo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Lima having to interfere. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Bailao's goalkeeper Eusébio Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to SC Bailao getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Joaquim Barros hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Carmanchao's Aldaír Guerra tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Horácio Bettencourt fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Carmanchao's protests and gave Horácio Bettencourt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Bailao booed when SC Carmanchao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Bettencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eusébio Lima stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Horácio Bettencourt's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zarco Rijo made a kick off. Diamantino Prada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute.
