The supporters of SC Cotem booed when Madeira S.A.D. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Delgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andres Ceandro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentim Pestana in the 35th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flávio Osório to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Madeira S.A.D. defense, Gergori Vila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abílio Fernandes. The Madeira S.A.D. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abílio Fernandes should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Madeira S.A.D.'s Flávio Osório slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andres Ceandro. That made the score 3-1 after 55 minutes of play. The supporters of SC Cotem booed when Madeira S.A.D. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valter Ponte didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gergori Vila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Manuel Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the SC Cotem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Mendes couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the match, Flávio Osório dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andres Ceandro, 3-2.
