With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Rodrigues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luís Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Oia FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! Marcelo Soveral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Luís Nogueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gouviaes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Gastão Sobral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Luís Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gastão Sobral was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. The Oia FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gouviaes were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Monteiro to make the kick off. Gouviaes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Reis in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Monteiro in the 56th minute of play forced Oia FC's goalkeeper Gastão Sobral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Monteiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gastão Sobral came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedro Monteiro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 89th minute. The Oia FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gouviaes's performance. The match ended with a win for Gouviaes.
