Maceirinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Teves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Bacelar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Maceirinha getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Miguel Tavares hit a great ball. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eduardo Bacelar. Maceirinha's Murilo Malta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilídio Rego in the 33rd minute of play. Murilo Malta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilídio Rego in the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bugalhao FC's zone, Octávio Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Bacelar came out of the goal and Octávio Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ilídio Rego stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Bacelar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Magalhães in the 52nd minute of the match. If Ilídio Rego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bugalhao FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Bacelar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maceirinha's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Januário Belo scored to the left of an out of position Murilo Malta, making the score, 1-1. If Lázaro Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute Octávio Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Bacelar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ilídio Rego fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Malta having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Lázaro Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lázaro Magalhães scored 3-1 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduardo Bacelar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Januário Belo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eduardo Bacelar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Octávio Porto's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Maceirinha fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bugalhao FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
