In the 36th minute of the match, Jaime Moniz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lúcio Guarda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 37 minutes into the game, Cambodja Catchupada's Alfredo Andrade nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Domingos Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Raimundo Geofredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Geofredo to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Fanadia FC's Henrique Vaz got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Domingos Marques made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Raimundo Geofredo sent off a good shot on target. Mariano Setúbal charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mariano Setúbal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, Mariano Setúbal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundo Geofredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Domingos Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Cambodja Catchupada defense, Vítor Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lúcio Guarda. The Cambodja Catchupada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lúcio Guarda should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Andrade in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Guarda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Mariano Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the game, Romário Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cambodja Catchupada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fanadia FC the free kick. The supporters of Fanadia FC booed when Cambodja Catchupada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute of the match Armindo Macedo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lúcio Guarda skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Cambodja Catchupada's Mariano Setúbal got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Mariano Nogueira notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Cambodja Catchupada's Lúcio Guarda. Lúcio Guarda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raimundo Geofredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Marques having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Fanadia FC's zone, Rui Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domingos Marques came out of the goal and Rui Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lúcio Guarda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
