After a defensive mix-up in Baceiros FC's zone, Rogério Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermes Vilalobos came out of the goal and Rogério Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henrique Linhares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amadeu Pires read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Marcos Águas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Amadeu Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alqueidao FC's Amadeu Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Águas in the 16th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Henrique Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baceiros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Henriques hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Vítor Macedo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Humberto Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Baceiros FC's Augusto Garcia got a free kick in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Rogério Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alqueidao FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermes Vilalobos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Alqueidao FC got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Oliveira. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With 65 minutes on the clock, Óscar Vieira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Baceiros FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emílio Alcântara during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Alqueidao FC booed when Baceiros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Manuel Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alqueidao FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermes Vilalobos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
