An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Tavares in the 4th minute of play forced Pernelhas's goalkeeper Alfredo Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute Viriato Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Armindo Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute Bento Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, António Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liverpool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Viriato Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Ribeiro having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Tavares in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Ribeiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Bento Carvalho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving José Veiga. That made the score 1-1 in the 18 minute of play. Alfredo Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Tavares in the 22nd minute of the match. Paulo Antunes hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. José Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adolfo Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bento Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. José Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bento Carvalho in the 37th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper José Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bento Carvalho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Veiga came out and tried to block the shot, but Bento Carvalho slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 42nd minute. If Adolfo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but José Veiga made a huge save.

When Pernelhas's Bento Carvalho in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Liverpool's goalie prevented a goal. In the 57th minute, Bento Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Veiga was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Bento Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Liverpool getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Viriato Tavares hit a great ball. Armindo Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Liverpool's José Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Carvalho in the 76th minute of play. José Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute of the match João Jesus sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Veiga skillfully saved the ball. The Liverpool fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Liverpool's Viriato Tavares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. José Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viriato Tavares got free with Alfredo Ribeiro in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Ribeiro made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Viriato Tavares sent off a good shot on target. After taking down the ball on Liverpool's corner Duarte Andrade fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfredo Ribeiro quite easily take care of the ball. Pernelhas were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Liverpool for a fine match.
