The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, Alvaredos's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Porto came free, but Abel Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Salgado got free with Diamantino Vale in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 15 minutes, Vivaldo Aires mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alvaredos and the SC Alcantara players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Vivaldo Aires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Porto in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Garcia saved Alvaredos from getting behind. If Jorge Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fábio Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Garcia having to interfere. Tiago Barcelos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Diamantino Vale made a huge save. Cristiano Luz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Jesualdo Chagas fired a really elegant long shot, but Diamantino Vale threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. SC Alcantara's Diamantino Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vivaldo Aires in the 35th minute of play. Tiago Barceloss short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Diamantino Vale to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vivaldo Aires made a kick off. A collision led to Alvaredos getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ronaldo Trindade hit a great ball. Diamantino Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Barcelos in the 71st minute of play. Fábio Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abel Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Fábio Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Daniel Reis took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Abel Garcia to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of SC Alcantara booed when Alvaredos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Barcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Alvaredos's Abel Garcia got control of the ball when Fábio Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94th minute, Jorge Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
