Chan Millán fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Delgado having to interfere. A collision led to Porto de Ave getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Luís Teixeira hit a great ball. Pedro Resende's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Augusto Borges skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Chan Millán received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Eusébio Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chan Millán in the 19th minute of play forced SC Gondivai's goalkeeper Eusébio Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Eusébio Delgado came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Porto de Ave's Chan Millán. But to his dismay, Chan Millán quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The long shot by Vítor Machado in the 29th minute really tested Augusto Borges's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Eusébio Delgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chan Millán went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute, Chan Millán left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Porto de Ave fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Faro in the 39th minute of play forced SC Gondivai's goalkeeper Eusébio Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, SC Gondivai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Freitas to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Chan Millán managed to get in a good position for a shot. Porto de Ave's supporters rose to their feet, but Chan Millán was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Delgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 44 minutes into the match, SC Gondivai's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Faro came free, but Eusébio Delgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filipe Faro made a kick off. Filipe Faro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 51st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 56th minute Emanuel Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Faro in the 59th minute of play forced SC Gondivai's goalkeeper Eusébio Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Pedro Resende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 68 minutes, Chan Millán managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Porto de Ave's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chan Millán was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusébio Delgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filipe Faro's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Porto de Ave's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Gondivai the free kick. Nuno Freitas hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Porto de Ave's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
