After 16 minutes, Emanuel Nóbrega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montreal Rangers and the SC Terroal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Joaquim Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Terroal's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Vilalobos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joaquim Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Montenegro having to interfere. Fábio Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Saúl Conde hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Basílio Pinho notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SC Terroal's Fábio Montenegro. Fábio Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basílio Pinho in the 92nd minute. If Emanuel Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Montreal Rangers players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
