But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Neto couldn't finish the play. Eusébio Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Parchal FC's Anselmo Mascarenhas got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute of the match Nuno Pereira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armindo Calado skillfully saved the ball. After 24 played minutes Caldeira got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Vale. In the 26th minute António Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Calado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artur Quinaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armindo Calado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Leal in the 42nd minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Neto to make the kick off. Parchal FC's Armindo Calado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Leal in the 63rd minute of play. Artur Quinaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Eusébio Magalhães made a huge save. Armindo Calado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from António Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusébio Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Parchal FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Isidro Torcato in the 76th minute. After 87 minutes, Saúl Bulhosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Parchal FC and the Caldeira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, one of Parchal FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Parchal FC. Nuno Pereira placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! If Cândido Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when António Leal in the 95th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that António Leal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armindo Calado was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Caldeira defense, Artur Quinaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eusébio Magalhães. The Caldeira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eusébio Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
