The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Cambres FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Gastão Jordão hit a great ball. Santiago Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Gomes having to interfere. Gastão Jordão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xavier Coelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amado Jordão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Torneiros's Vicente Abreu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cambres FC's zone, Joaquim Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amado Jordão came out of the goal and Joaquim Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Torneiros getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Jacinto Simões hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Torneiros's goal looked a bit too open when Gastão Jordão came free, but João Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xavier Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Jordão having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Xavier Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Torneiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 41 played minutes Cambres FC got a freekick which was hit by João Espinosa. After recieving a nice pass, Torneiros's Vicente Abreu tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Torneiros's João Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gastão Jordão in the 58th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josué Gentil during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute, Josué Gentil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute Santiago Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cambres FC's goalkeeper Amado Jordão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rui Santarém's late challenge caught a Cambres FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Santarém helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Torneiros's Rui Santarém got a free kick in the 76th minute. Gastão Jordão struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. João Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cambres FC. 1-0 became the score in the 80th minute when Gastão Jordão elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Santiago Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Gomes having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Cambres FC's goalkeeper Amado Jordão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquim Monteiro.
