After 7 minutes, Joaquim Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Torneiros and the SUMOLICOS SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joaquim Monteiro hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Valdemar Vilela managed to get in a good position for a shot. SUMOLICOS SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Vilela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Torneiros's João Gomes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Torneiros from getting a goal against them. Valdemar Vilela struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. João Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SUMOLICOS SC. In the 14th minute Valdemar Vilela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jokin Cubria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Anthony Tedeschi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, SUMOLICOS SC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Monteiro came free, but Carlos Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Torneiros booed when SUMOLICOS SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Vilela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Rui Santarém sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Amorim skillfully saved the ball. If Valdemar Vilela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd match minute, Torneiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Santarém to maneuver through the defense. Jokin Cubria might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Gomes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jokin Cubria ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Torneiros getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Alexandre Barbosa hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, SUMOLICOS SC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Monteiro came free, but Carlos Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Torneiros booed when SUMOLICOS SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Vilela didn't get a good kick on the ball. SUMOLICOS SC's Carlos Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Coelho in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xavier Coelho was the one to do the kick off. Joaquim Monteiro took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Amorim. Carlos Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 57 minutes into the game, Jokin Cubria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. João Gomes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, SUMOLICOS SC's Carlos Amorim got control of the ball when Joaquim Monteiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacinto Simões got free with Carlos Amorim in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joaquim Ferro struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. João Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SUMOLICOS SC. Rene Abeita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Tedeschi in the 69th minute of play forced Torneiros's goalkeeper João Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Trindade's late challenge caught a SUMOLICOS SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Trindade helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SUMOLICOS SC booed when Torneiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. SUMOLICOS SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Xavier Coelho scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Amorim, making the score, 3-2. João Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jokin Cubria in the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Rene Abeita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SUMOLICOS SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Abeita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Torneiros's goalkeeper João Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. It was a brilliant solo performance by Torneiros's Rui Santarém when he shot the ball into the net to 4-3 in the 90th minute. João Gomes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jokin Cubria went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-3 was the resulting score. There was no doubt that SUMOLICOS SC were the better team. SUMOLICOS SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
