Filinto Carrasqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoni Tyskie in the 18th minute of the match. Antoni Tyskie took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filinto Carrasqueira. Filinto Carrasqueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. João Porto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of José Rocha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. G92's José Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Lopes in the 24th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Leandro Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Velasques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but José Rocha made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adão Pinho to make the kick off. In the 56th minute Adão Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. G92's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carnapata the free kick.
