SC Brasense's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mariano Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nuno Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Fernando Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Aleixo in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Borges prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute of the match Paulo Anjos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Borges showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 20th minute, SC Brasense's Bruno Amaro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bruno Amaro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SC Brasense protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bruno Amaro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 19th minute, one of SC Brasense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Brasense. The referee gave SC Almargens a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Paulo Anjos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Brasense's Fernando Borges. 0-1. After 25 played minutes SC Almargens got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Leão. Rui Baptista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. David Cunha hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the SC Brasense defense, Joaquim Aleixo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Borges. The SC Brasense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Borges should have stopped the shot. Joel Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Fernando Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Cunha was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, SC Brasense's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Paredes came free, but Fernando Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Aleixo in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Borges saved SC Brasense from getting behind. A collision led to SC Brasense getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Joel Assunção hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves João Resende could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Fernando Borges however easily saved by the left post. After 65 played minutes SC Brasense got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Cruz. Fernando Borges made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Joaquim Aleixo sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd minute Joel Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joaquim Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Resende got free with Fernando Borges in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernando Coimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After 96 played minutes SC Brasense got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Cruz. With a little luck, SC Brasense's Fernando Borges got control of the ball when Joaquim Aleixo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Almargens eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
