Bruno Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Leal in the 6th minute of the match. Cristóvão Lisboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Simão Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to BEER UNITED FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Júlio Lima hit a great ball. When SC Maia's Fábio Branco in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bruno Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Leal in the 30th minute of play. During the 31st minute of the match Armando Vale completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Armando Vale a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, BEER UNITED FC's Armando Vale got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, João Leal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. BEER UNITED FC's Bruno Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Leal in the 46th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Leal to make the kick off. Basílio Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Bruno Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filipe Branco came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bruno Gaspar could save by the left post. The supporters of SC Maia booed when BEER UNITED FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Belasko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fábio Branco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bruno Gaspar firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in BEER UNITED FC's zone, João Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Gaspar came out of the goal and João Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, BEER UNITED FC's Eusébio Ribeiro got a free kick in the 72nd minute. When Abel Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the SC Maia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Monteiro couldn't finish the play. Fábio Branco scored 0-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Gaspar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bruno Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Leal in the 80th minute of play. Simão Pacheco scored 1-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simão Mendes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Júlio Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júlio Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd play minute Fábio Branco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bruno Gaspar. 1-3. In the 96th minute, BEER UNITED FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fábio Branco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The SC Maia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
