Noel Coelho lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave BETTERTHANP0RTO a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duarte Assunção, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Porto's Armindo Esparteiro. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Porto's zone, Grzegorz Naumowicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armindo Esparteiro came out of the goal and Grzegorz Naumowicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grzegorz Naumowicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Esparteiro having to interfere. Mark Streit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juliano Ferreira charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juliano Ferreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. BETTERTHANP0RTO's Lourenço Nascimento pulled a muscle in his back after 31 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 31 minutes into the game, Plácido Aveiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Porto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BETTERTHANP0RTO the free kick. Plácido Aveiro hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After having played for 37 minutes, Mark Streit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BETTERTHANP0RTO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Streit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute of the match BETTERTHANP0RTO got a corner. Porto's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Duarte Assunção ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Porto's goalie and right to Mark Streit. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Porto's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Mark Streit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Streit came free, but Armindo Esparteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juliano Ferreira was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Tomás Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Streit came free, but Armindo Esparteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Streit got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Armindo Esparteiro handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Streit in the 77th minute of play forced Porto's goalkeeper Armindo Esparteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Mark Streit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Streit came free, but Armindo Esparteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juliano Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
