Porto:s Armindo Esparteiro showed great skill when he stopped Vasco Tavares:s penalty. 6 minutes into the game, SC Sosa's Vasco Tavares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armindo Esparteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Juliano Ferreira came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Porto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juliano Ferreira couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, SC Sosa's Daniel Nunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armindo Esparteiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Adelino Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute, Adelino Moniz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Sosa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Nélson Lages could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Albertino Andrade made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Nunes came free, but Armindo Esparteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Sosa's Alexandre Rodrigues got a free kick in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Porto's zone, Armando Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armindo Esparteiro came out of the goal and Armando Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half SC Sosa were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Juliano Ferreira made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Armindo Esparteiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Porto were furious when Noel Coelho was red carded, 70 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. Juliano Ferreira charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juliano Ferreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Porto's Armindo Esparteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Moniz in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Sosa walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
