Carlos Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordão Vargas having to interfere. Sérgio Valente took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jordão Vargas. Águias do Além's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jordão Vargas was a little too slow when Emanuel Melo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Águias do Além's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Melo came free, but Jordão Vargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Melo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Jorge Pinto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aldo Pimenta's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Jorge Pinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristóvão Estrada stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorge Pinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Estrada, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Lisandro Câmara's late challenge caught a Guena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sérgio Valente was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jordão Vargas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Paulo Ferreira notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Águias do Além's Jordão Vargas. Jordão Vargas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jorge Pinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristóvão Estrada in the 70th minute of play. Cristóvão Estrada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jordão Vargas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Ferreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jordão Vargas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Ferreira ran back to his position shaking his head. Jordão Vargas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Melo's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. When Jairo Teves fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Águias do Além's protests and gave Jairo Teves a yellow card for diving instead. After 83 played minutes Águias do Além got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Teves. 86 minutes into the match, Águias do Além's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Ferreira came free, but Jordão Vargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Araújo during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
