The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Lisboa got free with Mário Azenha in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 5 minutes into the match, IRON MAIDEN's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Fraga came free, but Eliseu Carvalheira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Fraga took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseu Carvalheira. Eliseu Carvalheira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Eliseu Carvalheira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevão Antas in the 36th minute of play. Eliseu Carvalheira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Fraga in the 38th minute of the match. AlcaShoes were furious when Aldaír Pessoa was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to AlcaShoes getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Aldaír Pessoa hit a great ball. AlcaShoes's Mário Azenha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save AlcaShoes from getting a goal against them. When Cláudio Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the AlcaShoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Fraga couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

54 minutes into the game, IRON MAIDEN's Alcides Prada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mário Azenha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Alberto Franco kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, AlcaShoes's Cláudio Fraga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eliseu Carvalheira. Eliseu Carvalheira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. 62 minutes into the match, AlcaShoes's Cláudio Fraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eliseu Carvalheira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. AlcaShoes's Mário Azenha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Fernandes in the 69th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as AlcaShoes's Cláudio Fraga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eliseu Carvalheira. That made the score 2-4 after 81 minutes of play. Cláudio Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Carvalheira having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Fernandes in the 90th minute of play forced AlcaShoes's goalkeeper Mário Azenha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, AlcaShoes's goal looked a bit too open when Alcides Prada came free, but Mário Azenha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Caio Castelo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see IRON MAIDEN lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
