Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ivo Galvão took the kick off in the first half of the match. Oliveira Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Sérgio Barata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10thth minute of the game Domingos Cordeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espadanido's Sandro Guerreiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sandro Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Galvão in the 11th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Domingos Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ivo Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed António Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Roem booed when Espadanido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Carlos Azenha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Roem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espadanido the free kick. Espadanido's Sandro Guerreiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Cordeiro in the 28th minute of play. Sérgio Barata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliveira Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Oliveira Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Ivo Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Guerreiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sérgio Barata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliveira Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute of the match Carlos Azenha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sandro Guerreiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Domingos Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Roem's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Guerreiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44th minute, António Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ivo Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the SC Roem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo Galvão couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oliveira Lopes to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Brochado in the 54th minute of play forced Espadanido's goalkeeper Sandro Guerreiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Roem's Almiro Castilho shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 56th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sandro Guerreiro but with some difficulty. In the 61st minute, Domingos Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sandro Guerreiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 63rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Almiro Castilho. Ivo Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Carlos Ferro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espadanido's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Roem the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Rui Figueiredo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Roem's Sérgio Barata didn't even have to move. Duarte Portugal's late challenge caught a Espadanido's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Portugal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, SC Roem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Portugal to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Barata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Figueiredo in the 76th minute of play. Oliveira Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Barata having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Domingos Cordeiro made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Guerreiro. Espadanido's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Simão Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adelino Gomes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sérgio Barata. SC Roem's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. SC Roem's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
