Moisés Brites helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes ARCCatarinense got a freekick which was hit by Moisés Brites. When Nélson Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored maiores.f.c's protests and gave Nélson Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th match minute, maiores.f.c was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nélson Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Nélson Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Hélio Fiúza notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of maiores.f.c's Durval Peralta. Durval Peralta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Micael Granja fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ARCCatarinense's protests and gave Micael Granja a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute of the match, Aristides Mascarenhas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leonardo Esteves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of ARCCatarinense booed when maiores.f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílcar Horta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélio Fiúza struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Durval Peralta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ARCCatarinense. Durval Peralta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Fiúza, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When Máximo Carmo came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the ARCCatarinense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Máximo Carmo couldn't finish the play. When maiores.f.c's Aristides Mascarenhas in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. ARCCatarinense were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aristides Mascarenhas to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Aristides Mascarenhas notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of ARCCatarinense's Leonardo Esteves. Leonardo Esteves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Jorge Fontes put in a rough tackle. 63 minutes into the game, one of ARCCatarinense:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 71 minutes into the match, ARCCatarinense's goal looked a bit too open when Aristides Mascarenhas came free, but Leonardo Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durval Peralta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moisés Brites went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Leonardo Esteves came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by maiores.f.c's Amílcar Horta. But to his dismay, Amílcar Horta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Roberto Rego kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind ARCCatarinense's goalkeeper Leonardo Esteves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ARCCatarinense players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
