In the 21st minute, Luís Mourão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cândido Santos. The goal made the score 1-0. If Luís Mourão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 41 in the game by Reginaldo Salgado from a close distance when the talented Cândido Santos managed to make a qualified save. SC Catelaria's players were relieved. After 53 played minutes SC Catelaria got a freekick which was hit by Artur Pinto. 59 minutes into the match, Rui Cruz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lisandro Domingues, 1-1. SC Catelaria's Cândido Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Mourão in the 67th minute of play. Joel Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reginaldo Salgado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cândido Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. SC Catelaria were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
