The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivo Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Bernardo Sanches sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Rinchoa's João Henriques didn't even have to move. 10 minutes into the match, SC Rinchoa's goalkeeper João Henriques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teófilo Pinho. João Henriques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teófilo Pinho's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teófilo Pinho got free with João Henriques in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 played minutes, SC Rinchoa's Alberto Moniz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivo Martins came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Rinchoa reached it. Ivo Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Ramos in the 19th minute of play. SC Rinchoa's Alberto Moniz got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Humberto Ramos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Martins was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ivo Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Pacheco, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The supporters of Cerco FC booed when SC Rinchoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the SC Rinchoa defense, Bernardo Sanches kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Henriques. The SC Rinchoa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Henriques should have stopped the shot. Ivo Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of SC Rinchoa booed when Cerco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute, Alberto Moniz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cerco FC's Ivo Martins didn't even have to move. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teófilo Pinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ivo Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Henriques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Ramos in the 73rd minute of play forced Cerco FC's goalkeeper Ivo Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th match minute, SC Rinchoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Moniz to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Cerco FC's Bernardo Sanches broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Bernardo Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Cerco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Sanches couldn't finish the play. SC Rinchoa's João Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teófilo Pinho in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Teófilo Pinho notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of SC Rinchoa's João Henriques. João Henriques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cerco FC's Ivo Martins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Cerco FC from getting a goal against them. Teófilo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Henriques having to interfere. The SC Rinchoa players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
