The supporters of Fuzeiro Carnes FC booed when Ervedosa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salvador Trindade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heitor Luz in the 13th minute of the match. Fernando Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abílio Vasques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 played minutes, Fuzeiro Carnes FC's Rui Diegues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernando Oliveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fuzeiro Carnes FC reached it. A collision led to Fuzeiro Carnes FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Pascoal Meira hit a great ball. Heitor Luz hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Emanuel Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salvador Trindade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Abílio Vasques left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fuzeiro Carnes FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fernando Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angélico Azenha in the 35th minute of the match. Emanuel Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Heitor Luz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Salvador Trindade. Heitor Luz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Emanuel Cruz came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Salvador Trindade could save by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abílio Vasques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernando Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abílio Vasques in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ervedosa FC's zone, Angélico Azenha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Oliveira came out of the goal and Angélico Azenha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th match minute, Fuzeiro Carnes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adão Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. Fuzeiro Carnes FC's Salvador Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Cruz in the 72nd minute of play. António Portugal hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Salvador Trindade made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heitor Luz in the 88th minute of play forced Fuzeiro Carnes FC's goalkeeper Salvador Trindade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Abílio Vasques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fuzeiro Carnes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abílio Vasques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Abílio Vasques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvador Trindade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heitor Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ervedosa FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
