Geraldo Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Alfredo Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Soares in the 8th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Romarigaes's zone, José Antas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Soares came out of the goal and José Antas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Antas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Soares having to interfere. In the 18th minute Rui Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hildeberto Soveral's late challenge caught a SC Romarigaes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hildeberto Soveral helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Hildeberto Soveral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rui Lencastre hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The long shot by Mário Garcia in the 26th minute really tested Alfredo Meira's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Eusébio Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Antas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Alfredo Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Geraldo Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talasnal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Geraldo Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, SC Romarigaes's Rui Veiga got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 45th minute, Cláudio Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the game, Bernardo Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Romarigaes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talasnal FC the free kick. Bernardo Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Geraldo Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Eusébio Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Soares in the 61st minute of play. After 63 played minutes SC Romarigaes got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Cunha. After a rather tough play, SC Romarigaes's Paulo Azevedo got a free kick in the 65th minute. Fábio Rios, 66 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bernardo Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Alfredo Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Cunha in the 73rd minute of play forced Talasnal FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rui Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Meira having to interfere. Bernardo Andrade got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Talasnal FC booed when SC Romarigaes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Antas scored 1-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eusébio Soares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 91st minute, SC Romarigaes's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after José Antas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 98th minute, Cláudio Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
