The tension between the Sebal FC and the Boinheira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maurício Salgado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusébio Paredes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Boinheira FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Manuel Mota hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sebal FC's Maurício Azeredo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Sebal FC's Juvenal Ribas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Sebal FC from getting a goal against them. If Cândido Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertino Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Boinheira FC's Cândido Neto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juvenal Ribas. That made the score 0-1 after 73 minutes of play. If Albertino Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Joaquim Assis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cândido Neto might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juvenal Ribas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cândido Neto ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Boinheira FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
