Seroa FC's Adolfo Neto managed to work through Grandola's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Adolfo Neto dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After having played for 10 minutes, Luís Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seroa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Óscar Moutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grandola's Óscar Moutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Neto in the 19th minute of play. Raul Pacheco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Armando Leão came out and tried to block the shot, but Raul Pacheco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Freitas in the 27th minute of play forced Grandola's goalkeeper Óscar Moutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grandola's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Morais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raul Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Leão having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Ricardo Morais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raul Pacheco to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Assunção during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Armando Leão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Pacheco went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Luís Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Moutinho having to interfere. Adolfo Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Freitas got free with Óscar Moutinho in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 71 minutes, Luís Freitas made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Grandola's Óscar Moutinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Seroa FC defense, Raul Pacheco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armando Leão. The Seroa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Leão should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Seroa FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Pedro Assunção hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Seroa FC's Adolfo Neto got a free kick in the 95th minute. After 96 played minutes, Grandola's José Gomes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armando Leão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grandola reached it. Grandola's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
