Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Tenoes FC's Daniel Assis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Jesus in the 15th minute of the match. A hard shot by Rui Almeida from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Joel Almeida's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gustavo Rodrigues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Barbosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Afonso Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Joel Almeida made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Sporting's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Assis came free, but Joel Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fábio Melo in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute Daniel Assis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting's Joel Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Assis in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustavo Rodrigues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo Rodrigues in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joel Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Assis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albertino Viana hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Sporting's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Assis came free, but Joel Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cândido Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Cunha in the 73rd minute of play forced Sporting's goalkeeper Joel Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Matias hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Cândido Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Barbosa having to interfere. In the 89th play minute Cândido Rodrigues came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vicente Barbosa. 0-2. Ricardo Monteiro hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sporting walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
