In the 5th match minute, FC Botalume was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Avelino Horta to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Almas FC booed when FC Botalume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Almas FC's Augusto Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Almas FC's Armando Borges got a free kick in the 15th minute. Armando Borges struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Fabrício Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. When Diego Pinheiro fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Botalume's protests and gave Diego Pinheiro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Botalume's Diego Pinheiro got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Augusto Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Miranda having to interfere. After 26 minutes, Ivan Ferro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Botalume and the Almas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Botalume getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Ivan Ferro hit a great ball. Pedro Ferro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Fabrício Miranda made a huge save. FC Botalume's Fabrício Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save FC Botalume from getting a goal against them. Almas FC's Pedro Ferro got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armando Borges during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aristides Carvalho to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Cláudio Pinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Almas FC and the FC Botalume players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, Cláudio Pinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, Amado Seabra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58 played minutes Almas FC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Borges. 59 minutes into the match, FC Botalume's Amado Seabra broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Aristides Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Botalume's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute, Aristides Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Botalume's Amado Seabra got a free kick in the 75th minute. After 76 minutes of play, Almas FC's Augusto Castro made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabrício Miranda was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Almas FC booed when FC Botalume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Severiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 minutes, Pedro Ferro made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Botalume's Fabrício Miranda tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Amado Seabra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabrício Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Castro in the 92nd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Botalume players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Almas FC.
