Afonso Teixeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristóvão Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. When Basílio Dias came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Rombarral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Dias couldn't finish the play. Manuel Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Anjos having to interfere. Fábio Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Calde's Manuel Costa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hélder Anjos. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. Rombarral's Hélder Anjos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Costa in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Rombarral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Paredes to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Costa in the 34th minute of play forced Rombarral's goalkeeper Hélder Anjos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basílio Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Costa having to interfere. Fábio Carvalho scored 2-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hélder Anjos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Teixeira to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Calde:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rombarral:s goal. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for Rombarral. Oliveira Nogueira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cristóvão Costa. 2-2. Cristóvão Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Teixeira in the 57th minute of the match. Basílio Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Cristóvão Costa made a huge save. In the 63rdth minute of the game Afonso Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Calde's Cristóvão Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristóvão Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Teixeira in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Basílio Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fábio Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hélder Anjos having to make a save.
