Carlos Baptista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. SC Plinos were furious when Joaquim Cunha was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of SC Plinos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lavradio:s goal. Alexandre Teixeira shot the penalty kick right outside the post. A collision led to SC Plinos getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Daniel Magalhães hit a great ball. After 35 minutes of play, Lavradio's Alexandre Teixeira made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. António Freitas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 43 minutes, Emílio Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lavradio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Lavradio's Alexandre Teixeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Freitas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emílio Paredes made a kick off. Gabriel Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Baptista having to interfere. With a little luck, Lavradio's Carlos Baptista got control of the ball when David Resende tried to sneak it across the goal line. Afonso Amaro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Carlos Baptista firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alexandre Macedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for António Freitas. SC Plinos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The SC Plinos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Plinos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
