SC Lourencos's Emanuel Assis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Pinto in the 23rd minute of play. Emanuel Assis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mariano Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 27 minutes into the game, Inácio Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Lourencos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Cheiras the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in SC Lourencos's zone, Mariano Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Assis came out of the goal and Mariano Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gil Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Pinto was the one to do the kick off. Afonso Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Pereira having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Gil Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Borges in the 55th minute of the match. Emanuel Assis made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Mariano Cardoso sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Cardoso got free with Emanuel Assis in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joaquim Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Borges in the 63rd minute of play. Sandro Pinto took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emanuel Assis. Emanuel Assis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Afonso Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Pereira having to make a save. Mariano Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Lourencos booed when SC Cheiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Mariano Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cheiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Assis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Cheiras's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
