Caparide FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C.Espinho the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Caparide FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Jesus to maneuver through the defense. Noel Veríssimos short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Albertino Melo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudemiro Fernandes during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Caparide FC booed when S.C.Espinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudemiro Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caparide FC's Lourenço Freitas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 14th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for S.C.Espinho. In the 25th minute of the match Gaspar Abreu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Moutinho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 25 played minutes S.C.Espinho got a freekick which was hit by Severino Pereira. Sérgio Moutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to S.C.Espinho getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Vicente Horta hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the match, S.C.Espinho's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Almeida came free, but Sérgio Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 played minutes Caparide FC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Soares. 37 minutes into the match, Caparide FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Madruga came free, but Albertino Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaspar Abreu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Emanuel Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Moutinho having to interfere. In the 44thth minute of the game André Ribeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.C.Espinho's Sérgio Moutinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivo Madruga to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Veríssimo in the 52nd minute of play forced Caparide FC's goalkeeper Albertino Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Jesus was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 56th minute of the match Baltasar Nascimento sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albertino Melo skillfully saved the ball. Emanuel Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of S.C.Espinho booed when Caparide FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Caparide FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caparide FC's goalkeeper Albertino Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If André Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Caparide FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented S.C.Espinho from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
