Humberto Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herberto Guarda having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Desp.Aves's goalkeeper Carlos Abreu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Rios. Daniel Viana might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herberto Guarda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Rios could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Carlos Abreu made a huge save. After some careless play in the SC Mesieiro defense, Domingos Ferro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herberto Guarda. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domingos Ferro was the one to do the kick off.
