In the 18th minute of the match Renato Oliveira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fábio Teixeira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Agostas FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carlos Esteves hit a great ball. With splendid footwork António Bessa arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-1 by the left pole in the game's 21st minute. Frederico Baía could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Fábio Teixeira made a huge save. Fábio Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damião Frois kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Balazeima FC defense, Fábio Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustavo Fontoura. The Balazeima FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Fontoura should have stopped the shot. Gustavo Fontoura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Soares in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Frederico Baía ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fábio Teixeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. António Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Soares in the 45th minute of play forced Balazeima FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Fontoura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fábio Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. António Bessa was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Agostas FC booed when Balazeima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Esteves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustavo Fontoura came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Esteves slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 64th minute. After a rather tough play, Agostas FC's Miguel Melo got a free kick in the 68th minute. Frederico Baía fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Teixeira having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Balazeima FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Esteves came free, but Gustavo Fontoura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fábio Soares struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Gustavo Fontoura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Agostas FC. Fábio Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Fontoura having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Esteves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gustavo Fontoura. That made the score 2-4 in the 96 minute of play.
