The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fernando Trindade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Timóteo Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Abreu's late challenge caught a CF Mugido's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ajuda getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Eduardo Abreu hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herberto Madruga got free with Vítor Domingues in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute Fernando Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timóteo Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timóteo Nóbrega having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Gustavo Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Timóteo Nóbrega. CF Mugido's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Domingos Lisboa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Timóteo Nóbrega. CF Mugido's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Timóteo Nóbrega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Trindade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Fernando Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timóteo Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Trindade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Timóteo Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingos Lisboa shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Kevin Balsemão hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the game's 52nd minute Ajuda's Domingos Lisboa took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Timóteo Nóbrega and thus the score was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivo Bettencourt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of CF Mugido booed when Ajuda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingos Lisboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fernando Trindade came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ajuda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Trindade couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, CF Mugido's goalkeeper Timóteo Nóbrega had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Leão. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Leão in the 75th minute of play forced CF Mugido's goalkeeper Timóteo Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 played minutes CF Mugido got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Graça. CF Mugido's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Jaime Leão scored to the left of an out of position Timóteo Nóbrega, making the score, 0-3. In the 86th minute, Ivo Bettencourt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Timóteo Nóbrega made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Leão in the 88th minute. Timóteo Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Trindade in the 89th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Fernando Trindade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timóteo Nóbrega was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Jaime Leão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Timóteo Nóbrega was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Ajuda played a much better game than CF Mugido and deserved their victory. The CF Mugido players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
