Sul FC's Rui Macedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Sul FC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Sul FC's Cândido Oliveira got a free kick in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Vieira in the 13th minute of play forced Sul FC's goalkeeper Rui Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Atıf Uran succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 14th playminute. Xavier Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rui Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sul FC's Bento Assis got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Xavier Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Xavier Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, André Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 48 minutes into the game, Sul FC's António Alves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
