The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgílio Sesimbra helped the player get up and apologised. Virgílio Sesimbra hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Real Vila Meã's Herberto Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Domingues in the 18th minute of play. Herberto Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Herberto Correia was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Alex Dalgren capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alex Dalgren really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 32nd minute, Alex Dalgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Dalgren got free with Herberto Correia in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Lucas Domingues made the kick off in the second half. Mário Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Resende in the 52nd minute of play. Alex Dalgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herberto Correia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. If Alex Dalgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Benfica Castelo Branco's Pedro Viegas got a free kick in the 62nd minute. António Delgado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mário Anjos. Benfica Castelo Branco's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 64th minute, Lúcio Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match António Delgado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mário Anjos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Benfica Castelo Branco fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Benfica Castelo Branco's Lucas Domingues looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Benfica Castelo Branco booed when Real Vila Meã was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcísio Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herberto Correia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Herberto Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Domingues in the 79th minute of the match. Mário Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo Resende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Benfica Castelo Branco's Lucas Domingues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herberto Correia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Benfica Castelo Branco's Tomás Nascimento got a free kick in the 85th minute. Alex Dalgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herberto Correia having to interfere. Mário Anjos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Sesimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute Lucas Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herberto Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Sesimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Benfica Castelo Branco players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
