Paulo Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Anjos in the 11th minute of play. Miguel Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Pedro Neiva made a huge save. If Isidro Valverde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Fontes during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Cruzinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Fontes to maneuver through the defense. Américo Gameiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute, Isidro Valverde got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidro Valverde, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Rameiros FC's Pedro Neiva got control of the ball when Miguel Ribeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Anjos in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cruzinho's Nuno Anjos got a free kick in the 41st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Armindo Anjos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Neiva. That made the score 1-0 in the 46 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armindo Anjos to make the kick off. Miguel Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Miguel Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. If Isidro Valverde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidro Valverde's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Pedro Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo Anjos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Valverde in the 75th minute of play forced Cruzinho's goalkeeper Paulo Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Miguel Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Ribeiro in the 82nd minute of play. Isidro Valverde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Neiva having to interfere. Rameiros FC's Pedro Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Anjos in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Diogo Lemos fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 96 minutes into the match, Armindo Anjos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Neiva. Rameiros FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armindo Anjos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0.
