It was a penalty for Alcains F.C.! After a defensive mix-up in SC Freguesia's zone, Telmo Martins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Moura came out of the goal and Telmo Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Telmo Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Moura having to interfere. Valentim Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Borba was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Telmo Martins made a precise shot to the right of Alberto Moura. SC Freguesia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Alberto Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. If Cassiano Tomé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The SC Freguesia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alberto Moura should have stopped the shot. 67 minutes into the match, Alcains F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Esteves came free, but Hermínio Ventura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valentim Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Moura having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Telmo Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alcains F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Telmo Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Telmo Martins in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alberto Moura saved SC Freguesia from getting behind. In the 75th match minute, Alcains F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro Resende during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes SC Freguesia got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Resende. Alcains F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
